2016 Westview Summer Solstice Celebration

The Westview Community Organization hosted the 9th annual Westview Summer Solstice Celebration on Saturday, June 11, 2016. Like in 2015, the festival was held along the Ralph David Abernathy Blvd. commercial corridor in the Westview Village. The street was shut down for several hours as festival goers were able to walk down the street to enjoy the grill-off competition, vendor market, DJ music, kids crafts, and socialize with one another.

Brunch at D Cafe

The “First Saturday Mimosas & Brunch” event at D Cafe combines two great things – food with neighbors and giving for a good cause. Brunchers had the choice of a hearty mixed breakfast platter or regular menu items while socializing with fellow neighbors. In the meantime the “keep the change” jar allowed patrons to leave their change to go towards purchasing the Westview Community Garden.

Bring your children to the 2nd Annual Westview Candy Stroll!
Businesses along Ralph David Abernathy Blvd. in the Westview Village will host a candy stroll again this year. Dress up in your costumes, bring your own bag for candy and come enjoy snacks, games, face painting, music, and more. Fun for the whole family!
Participating businesses will have balloons on their door.

The Good Hair Shop Opening

On Saturday, March 14, 2015, the Westview Village gained a new business – The Good Hair Shop. The Good Hair Shop opened up in style with a red carpet event, buffet spread, and DJ to welcome existing clients as well as Westview neighbors to their new location.
The Good Hair Shop specializes in heat free locs and natural hair styling, scalp treatments, and a variety of handmade clothes and organic holistic hair and body care products.
