On Sunday, May 18th, the first monthly Westview ice cream social took place at The Big Apple Inn. Neighbors came out to brighten up a rainy Sunday by indulging in some home made ice cream, supporting a Westview business, and chatting about the latest happenings.

Thanks to The Big Apple Inn you can now pick up the latest paper issue of Creative Loafing Atlanta at the corner of Ralph David Abernathy Blvd. and East Ontario Ave. This is very exciting considering southwest Atlanta is somewhat underrepresented in Creative Loafing’s circulation list. Westview’s commercial area continues to see development along Ralph David Abernathy Blvd. The newest addition to the Westview neighborhood is The Big Apple Inn, a take-out restaurant making headlines for its pig ear sandwiches.
However, The Big Apple Inn brings more than just a new business to the neighborhood, it brings family history. April Patton, the owner of The Big Apple Inn, is a fourth generation family member of the business that originated in Jackson, Mississippi.
