Saturday, December 12th - This year West End and Westview have teamed up to bring you a grand day of celebrations and activities to kick off the holiday season. All events are open to the general public! If you haven't ever ventured out to the Westside of Atlanta this is your chance to GO WEST!

5K Walk To Benefit KIPP STRIVE Academy

We're kicking off the day's activities with a fundraiser for the KIPP STRIVE Academy! KIPP STRIVE is a charter school that opened this year in the historic JC Harris School building on Lucile Avenue. The walk is rain or shine, so come get your legs on! And more importantly get your exercise in before the parties later in the day. 5K is equal to about 3 miles, and it should take about one hour to walk the route. The Walk-A-Thon ends at the BeltLine ground breaking site.

BeltLine Trail Ground Breaking Ceremony

In February 2008 ground was broken for the first portion of BeltLine Trail along White Street in West End. Join us as we break ground for the second phase of the BeltLine Trail! Once complete, the trail will connect Rose Circle Park with the historic Westview Cemetery, and it will add more green space to the community. Free giveaways from the BeltLine. Walk-A-Thon ends at the ground breaking site. Meet at Muse Street and Lucile Avenue at high noon.

Westview Holiday Lunch At Fire Station 17

Immediately after the Beltline Ground Breaking Ceremony join the Westview Community Organization (WCO) and the local firefighters for the annual holiday lunch at Fire Station 17. The meal features homemade Southern favorites prepared by the neighbors. Come chow down on turkey, ham, mac n cheese, cornbread, cranberry sauce, stuffing, green beans, and much more! Please bring a dish to share. This event is kid friendly!

West End Cocktail Party At The Hammonds House Museum

Join West End, Westview and West End Merchants Coalition for a Gala to celebrate our historic shared past, our delightful present, and our fantastic future! The event will take place at the Hammonds House Museum, a beautiful Eastlake Victorian home that dates back to the 1870s. The museum houses the collections of the late Dr. Otis Thrash Hammonds and features exhibitions by contemporary artists.

The party is pot luck Hor d’Oeuvres with live music. In lieu of a dish, a small donation is suggested.

To our resident guests, please reach out to friends in other neighborhoods that are looking to live in or buy in our neighborhood. The holiday party will be a great introduction to the area by meeting our greatest asset: our friends and neighbors.
